It’s time again for another #BeautiesOnFire post, you voted on Twitter and decided that our theme for this week would be the 7 deadly sins, perfect for our 7th week wouldn’t you say?! Firstly, if you’re unsure as to what this whole #BeautiesOnFire thing is (where have you been hiding?) then please feel free to check out my introduction post below, additionally you may peruse the past few weeks themes.

This weeks theme offered a multitude of options, so many that I found I simply couldn’t choose one above another therefore resulting in my choice to create make-up looks for all seven! I wanted them all to be wearable looks, with some being perfect for the daytime whilst other’s would certainly not be out of place in a clubbing atmosphere. I actually used one of the following whilst going on a night out at the start of this week. I’d like to keep this post short but sinful sweet, if you’re following me on social media you’ll be aware that I’ve been on an utter roller-coaster, so without further ado, lets get straight onto my latest creations!


“Sloth:
1. Reluctance to work or make an effort; laziness.”

With laziness and lethargy in mind I wanted to keep this look very basic and to use minimal products - I of course opted for a no make-up style look. With only a simple base, natural barely there eye shadow, very little blush, lip balm and one coat of mascara I feel I definitely achieved this. To myself, I look as though I have nothing on, which is very peculiar to witness.



“Envy:
1. A feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck.”

Next I created envy and I wanted this to remain quite minimal also, with the focus being on the eyes. When I think of envy and make-up together I ponder people’s differing skill levels and think of people being ‘green with envy’ of those of which they view as higher in skill, talent or creativity. This would of course result in the envious person feeling in some way lacking themselves, hence my wish to keep the rest of this look somewhat basic, opting to use ‘sloth’ as my base with a few slight changes and switching my lip balm for a gloss, whilst of course continuing with natural brows!


“Lust: 
1. Strong sexual desire.”

My third and final look for Tuesday, also the one of which I used for my night out, is of course lust. Many of us endeavour to achieve a sexy look for the night time hours making this the perfect go to look, and to me, a lustful night time look simply has to incorporate an iconic red lip and smoky eye shadow.


“Wrath: 
Extreme anger.”

I’m rather certain that red is universally accepted as the colour portraying wrath, due to such an intense state of feeling, black, of course goes hand in hand with this, signifying the depth of fury. Unfortunately I’m lacking in red eye shadows, which did come as a shock to me considering my vast amount of palettes. I would have liked to have used a mixture of vibrant reds alongside darker crimson hues to transition into a smoked out black in the outer v, I’ve made the best that I could from such a disappointing revelation however.




“Gluttony:
Habitual greed or excess in eating.”

For many years I have been guilty of partaking in some serious comfort eating. Is it really a sin if you enjoy it so much? In my opinion, this look were definitely the least wearable of this collection as I went a little too crazy on the highlighting and the finished look reminds me of a unicorn. I were using cupcakes and sprinkles as my colour inspiration for this.


“Pride:
1. A feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of one's close associates, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.”

When feeling pride from achievements it feels, to myself, like a glowy feeling. Therefore gold, a lack of contour, highlight and a light blush, put together tastefully, is the look I were going for here. I didn’t want this look to be over done and so chose a nude lip.


“Greed:
Intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.”

I think of greed as excessive therefore using pride for the base of this look I piled on more eye shadow and added contour. With power in mind I chose to mix together two strong coloured lipsticks and in true materialistic mode I of course had to bring back the false lashes for the fourth and final look of yesterday (Thursday). I feel like greedy, spoilt people think of themselves as some form of royalty hence my decision to continue with the golden colours, although adding more shimmer in the process.



I adored creating the above looks and my personal favourite overall were probably lust, whilst my preferred eye look would have to be envy! Which look did you like the best? Which sin are you?
