Collection Naturally Matt Foundation - 3 Cool Beige

I felt I should start with my personal worst, the first. Despite the low price I still expected more from this product, considering that it’s from Collection and there are products from this brand of which I love, such as the lasting perfection concealer and the pressed powder. Unfortunately I were left thoroughly disappointed in this product, to the point that I know it’s something I will never use up, unless of course I happen to partake in some random challenge when I finally give my YouTube channel another chance. There’s absolutely zero coverage regardless of the fact it somehow manages to turn you into some form of oompa loompa. There are six shades in this range which I don’t find to be too many and if the rest of them are anything like this then they’re probably all an utter hazard, I would definitely not describe this product as cool beige, more like warm tangerine. I felt this had an incredibly oily consistency with a very wet and cakey texture, it were a relief to wash it from my face. Maybe another foundation from this range would be better suited although I’m definitely in no hurry to find out, myself and this product really disagreed.

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation - Beige 55

With first the worst done, it’s onto second the best! I absolutely adore this product so much that it’s unreal, you may have also noticed this in a previous post of mine, April Favourites. I had little to say at that point as I knew I wanted to review this item properly in this very post, it’s been so hard to keep my opinions to myself for so long because I will recommend this until the cows come home! I did mention in my previous post that I preferred this over the MAC Studio Fix Foundation, although I have rediscovered my love for MAC Studio Fix, the previous statement is still very much correct and I’m only using my Max Factor foundation less due to the fact that I’m running dangerously low! This product is available in nine different shades which is better than the Collection foundation above, however I feel could still be potentially problematic for some, speaking of which I love the shade I chose and feel it works well with my skin tone. This product has a light consistency with a flawless coverage, it’s 100% correct when described as a 3 in 1 product, I have found there’s no need to use a primer or concealer when using this foundation, which of course considerably cuts down my overall make-up application time, too. I still use a little concealer for my under eye area, but who doesn’t? It has an incredible staying power, it’s easily blendable and buildable, not that the latter is really needed, and I simply can’t get enough! It’s well presented in a glass pump bottle, giving the illusion of a high end product but for a fraction of the price! Whilst this is the most expensive of the cosmetics included in this post, it remains affordable. The product has a matte finish and dries rather quickly, giving a flawless finish.

Miss Beauty London Flawless Matte Foundation - Shade 3

Third’s the one... With a hairy chest? Okay I think I’ll stop here with the chants, or whatever it is they are. I stumbled upon this particular item whilst browsing a pound store, I can’t quite remember which one it were exactly, Poundworld or something similar, you know the types! I weren’t expecting anything at all from this really, in fact, something close to my findings from the Collection foundation would be the best way to describe what I were envisioning. I’d like to say I’m quite surprised. Sure, this product hasn’t changed my life or excited me to an immeasurable amount although I think anything were going to be better received after scoring Collection 1/10. I found this foundation to be much like the next one I’ll be speaking of, so I’ll keep these two quite brief. The coverage is very light but buildable - just be careful with the application technique because this CAN and WILL streak if you aren’t paying attention. I found this to be rather slow drying and to feel a little oily to touch, easily fixed however with a light helping of powder to set everything in place! I’d definitely recommend setting this with powder as it does look a little on the greasy side otherwise. This is something I’d wear if I’d ran out of everything else and felt that I absolutely couldn’t leave the house without some form of coverage that day. Nothing to write home about but it were a pleasant surprise none the less. There were only a couple of shades in this, a definite red flag!

P.S, Love Liquid Foundation - Ivory

Firstly, I wouldn’t have personally gotten Ivory, although there were only a few shades available and the other’s were far too dark for my skin tone! I’m unsure as to if there are more shades but weren’t stocked in that store at the time, or if there’s just barely anything to choose between, who knows, however Ivory is very pale, you have been warned! As I said above, I felt that this and the Miss Beauty were quite alike. Both having little coverage whilst being somewhat buildable, both slow to dry but also working quite well once setting powder is used on top. I preferred the P.S, Love foundation over the Miss Beauty due to the simple fact that I felt it had a little better coverage and more of a matte finish, there really isn’t much difference between the two, aside from the prices.

I’d score this product as 4/10

Primark - RRP: £2.50

Bourjois Air Mat - 03 Light Beige

Finally, my second favourite of the lot. Being Bourjois I were expecting this to be pretty amazing and I do have to say that I really enjoy this product, though it still can’t quite match up to the Max Factor Face Finity, but hey, even MAC doesn’t, so what does that tell you? Air Mat dries incredibly fast and applies like a dream, whilst hitting the nail thoroughly on the head with it’s matte finish, this is SO true to it’s words that it’s astounding. This product is a dream to wear, has great coverage, a beautiful finish and doesn’t leave me with the same clogged up feeling the day after like I’ve found the majority of other products to do. There’s only five shades available and I do feel as though there isn’t a considerable amount of product within this, I’m not sure there are many potential uses. Lastly, this is so matte that a setting powder isn’t necessarily required, although due to personal choice I still use mine, I guess it’s out of habit!

I’d score this product as 7/10

Model’s Own Nail Polish - Chrome Rose

I'm in love with the entire chrome collection from Model’s Own, they’re so unique and leave a gorgeous and elegant finish, the chrome rose in particular is my absolute favourite of the lot though. Judging by the packaging it would be assumed that this is a gold colour but nope, it’s definitely more of a rose gold. When first applied it does seem to look a little more gold tinted until it has a chance to dry - speaking of which, the chrome collection dries SO fast it’s unbelievable. I have never found a polish before of which dries as rapidly as these. 

Model’s Own Nail Polish - Pink Fizz

Pink Fizz is more of an overlay style and pairs utterly flawlessly with the chrome gold. To see what both look like together you can view a previous post of mine, “Infill Indulgence”, I'm sure you’ll agree that the finished look is sensational, I have never been so obsessed with a combination of nail polishes before in my entire life, I haven’t been able to stop looking at my nails since I did them! This, along with other polishes, takes a little longer to dry than the chrome colours, although I've found that Model’s Own tend to dry in an acceptable time frame anyway. 

My Map of You - Isabelle Broom

I haven’t finished this book as of yet but have been hardly able to put it down since I first picked it up, My Map of You has enthralled me from the very beginning. I don’t want to give too much away however, as I most definitely intend on writing a review of this beauty in due course. I'm thoroughly enjoying finding myself lost in it’s pages and never want the story to end! 

Blush - Antique 142

This product actually made an appearance in my recent ‘March Favourites’ post. I didn't go into too much detail about the blush in that post purely for the fact that I were planning to write this up soon after. There are many things I like about this item, hence why it has secured a place in my current top spot in blush products! The size is perfect in regard to getting a good swirl with your brush, the pigment is just right, it definitely gives you enough colour pay off but can be built on for a more intense look. The product applies like a dream and feels perfect on the skin, what’s more is the colour is stunning! It’s a beautiful dark dusty rose with a slight shimmer, I’d say this is more on the bronze side rather than blush and for this reason I use Antique as added definition for my cheek bone contour, rather than a stand alone blush. I have found the case to be really hard to open though, which is a pain in the royal rear end! I always find myself looking for an earring to wedge in the clip part of the compact in order to get it open. Warning, do not attempt to use your teeth to open this, you will destroy them! 

Eye & Cheek Palette - See You At Midnight 028

The antique blush is actually included in this palette, which I find rather odd as there’s already an individual one within the set, though because of my adoration for Antique it really doesn't matter to me personally! Pomegranate is an incredibly bright and very pigmented blush which definitely needs some blending! The small brush included I found to be a little rigid, but I use it to apply the product where I’ll be wanting it and then blend it in with one of my fluffy face brushes. On the topic of brushes there’s of course a sponge applicator brush provided for the shadows - I never use these. I find them a total hassle, one of which I can do without! The shadows are from the Vintage Romance I-Divine and there are some lovely colours included. The gold shade doesn't have quite as much colour pay off as the other three, it’s still very pretty though. Of course depending on both the brushes used and if a primer has been used, that will then determine the type of end result you’ll get from this palette, the shadows will be likely to crease after a while but the initial finish is gorgeous! I have to say that the case is much easier to open on this one, due to not having a clasp!

I-Divine Sunset Palette 568

Again this is an easy opener, despite being a clasp fasten! This is a twelve shade palette and has some extremely bright colours inside, my favourite of these being the shade ‘Afterglow’, which is a very vivid orange. There’s an exceptional pigmentation and colour pay off, especially on the brighter colours within, this palette has the potential to create amazing and vastly diverse looks!

Gloss Me - Phoenix Rising 25

Phoenix Rising is an outstanding glittery purple toned brown colour, although it comes off very easily and I’d recommend testing out a matte lipstick underneath. The gloss has a wand applicator and proves to be distinctly difficult to apply. Considering this reason, the gloss would definitely require a lip liner to be used in conjunction. Unfortunately this product is something of which I will be unlikely to use frequently. 

If you read a previous post of mine ‘Model’s Own, Boots, Select and Asda Haul’, then you will already have known to expect the inclusion of this item in today’s post. At first I did think of this as a little more pricey for a drugstore product although after using this a lot since and falling in love with it, I feel that the £7.99 is completely justified. You are after all getting two products in one so this could be thought of as £4 for each product, which isn’t bad considering. I do prefer the bronze to the highlight, though I’m happy with both. This product smells absolutely incredible, is it just me or does every Bourjois item have the best fragrance imaginable? It makes putting my make-up on even more fun simply for the smells being emitted from the products! Due to it being set up as a chocolate bar, it of course has a chocolate smell, this isn’t over done at all and would definitely be good enough to eat, if only it were a real chocolate bar! I’m happy with the pigmentation of the bronze shade as it’s a perfect in between, it’s not ridiculously light but it’s not too harsh or dark either, this can be of course built onto if needed although I find the pigmentation to be absolutely spot on for the majority of my contoured areas. I feel the highlight isn’t as well pigmented, though it’s lovely all the same. I tend to use this to highlight my nose where I don’t like there to be too much of a shine, I then use another highlighter for the other areas. Both the bronze and highlight blend in easily and leave a flawless finish, this is now my go to duo included in my everyday make-up routine. 

Sleek Blush - Antique 142

I don’t want to go into too much detail about this item purely for the fact that I’ll be publishing a post in the next few weeks with a full review of this alongside other Sleek items. I do have to say however, that I’m really enjoying this product! The colour is unique, like nothing else I own, it blends well and has exceptional pigmentation. I’m loving using this as a top up for my cheekbone contour. 

Make-Up Revolution London Lipstick - Purple/Wine

You will have seen this already in my advent calendar review at the start of this year, I loved this particular lipstick then and have very recently rediscovered my adoration for it. After pairing this together with the below product, I have somewhat fallen in love. For a more in depth review of this lipstick please read my post ‘Magical Make-Up Mysteries’.

P.S, Love Lip Liner - Wine 13

This is a fairly new purchase of which I first wrote about in the post ‘Shopping and Gelato Date’. The P.S, Love Lip Liners are so inexpensive and I’m so excited by the fact that they’ve been stocking a wider range of colours recently. I adore my purple and burgundy colours therefore had to pick up a liner in the ‘wine’ colour. I use this mostly with the above lipstick and the two are literally perfect together. To read a little more about the liner than what I have wrote here, please read the post of which I just mentioned. This is cheap and cheerful and does the job it’s intended for, bargain buy right here. 

Anna Sui ‘Rock Me’

I have already wrote about this on the post ‘Glorious Gift Haul’ therefore you can find out a little more about it there. This is a gorgeous scent and one of which I’m really enjoying recently. I have found myself wearing it the most now rather than any other time. I can’t get enough of this stunning and refreshing scent. 

Burgundy Pumps

Like with the Bourjois duo above, you will have seen these in my last haul post ‘Model’s Own, Boots, Select and Asda Haul’. I have always had a love for canvas style footwear and these will be perfect for the nicer and dryer weather to hopefully come soon. They are made with a thin canvas although this offers increased movement and ventilation, of course, these are also in the best colour possible. Due to my obsession with burgundy, these match up with SO many different items of clothing. There’s not much else to really say, these are cheap, cheerful and are already getting worn excessively. 

Floral Headband

Again included in my last haul post were this lovely little item, more can be read there but let me assure you that this is a fantastic little accessory indeed. Headbands are such an easy way to dress up even the most rushed and basic of hairstyles in order to make it appear as though some effort has been put in. I adore this, it’s so pretty and feminine, perfect for the spring and summer!

Collection Primed & Ready – Pore Minimiser 1
I’ve only ever used two face primers before therefore please bear in mind that I’m no expert. This has definitely been my favourite of the two, however! I use this with my fingers to gently smooth over my skin and have found it to have an exceptionally silky texture of which doesn’t feel in any way clogged up, with a very light consistency. After an effortless application, this then provides an even base for other cosmetics and does as it claims by reducing the appearance of large pores. Included in the ingredients is witch hazel, of which has anti-blemish properties. This primer has a matte finish and I love how sleek the rest of my make-up application feels after using this product.

Collection Primed & Ready – Eye Primer 1
This is described as illuminating and reviving and I can indeed confirm this to be 100% correct. It lightens up the eyes whilst producing an incredibly refreshed feeling, making otherwise tired eyes then feel wide awake and ready for the day ahead. Only a very small amount of product is needed, it comes out of the tube white but of course this is nothing to be concerned with as it soaks into the skin. Shadows and other eye products apply infinitely easier when using this primer as a base and it combats any creasing, uneven product distribution and shifting of pigments.

P.S, Love Make-Up Fixing Spray
My first impressions of this can be found on ‘First Impression Reviews: P.S, Love Range’. This is an easy to use and quick spray for setting make-up in place, before this I hadn’t used a setting spray and as a result I don’t have anything to compare this to. I’ve definitely been enjoying using this, though. Although it were such a cheap price and I weren’t really expecting much it’s actually been a great investment for me. It doesn’t leave me with a clogged up feeling, it’s simple to use and does it’s job well, setting my face in place for longer periods of time. Nothing budges when I have this on, it’s great! Like I said on my first impression the taste isn’t appreciated (the product finds its way in via my lip piercing), though I’ve since got a little more used to guarding my mouth until the spray has settled.

P.S, Love Liquid Foundation Brush
If you already read about this on my post ‘Money = Shopping, Shopping = Happiness’ then you will know that I were hoping that this brush would prove to be on par with an old brush from the P.S, Love range, which has since broken in multiple places. I’m ecstatic to verify that this brush is indeed just as adored as the last one, if not more! It feels sturdier than my old one and other’s in my collection, this is definitely my go to brush for applying concealer and foundation. I can’t fault it. I’m tempted to buy more purely to avoid panic in the future when needing a new one. I’ve found this brush to be well made and the application is fine because if you know how best to apply make up, then any potential for streaking is completely avoided.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Fair 1
I needed a concealer as my previous one is considerably close to empty. Rather than having my usual Ivory shade in stock of the P.S, Love Under Eye Concealer, were instead ‘Tan’. This quite clearly weren’t going to work for me, therefore I needed another option. I’d heard great things before about the Lasting Perfection Concealer from the Collection brand, therefore took myself off to Boots. I got mine in the shade ‘Fair 1’ which appears to be spot on and very quickly this has become my ultimate concealer. It has an amazing medium to high coverage and is a thick product whilst somehow managing to not clog the pores or feel cakey. I always use a patting motion with my brush for this product as swiping it across the skin will require using more and risk an uneven coverage. If used correctly then barely any product is needed to eradicate any blemishes, although quick work is needed with this as it dries quickly, with a flawless matte finish.

George Silk Finish Pressed Powder – No. 02 Nude
Previously I’ve always been a Collection kinda girl for my finishing powder, not any more. I’ve actually had the George Silk Finish since last year and have recently realised how great this product is. A week or so ago, I re-purchased the Collection Pressed Powder (this made an appearance in the post ‘I Solemnly Swear that I am up to No Good’), I got this in my usual shade ‘01 Candelight’ but it seems to be so much darker than it used to be. In the winter months the George Silk Finish is definitely better matched to my skin, also I have found the Collection Pressed Powder to feel much heavier on my face than the George SF. George Silk Finish is a very soft and light product, it really does feel like silk. A light handed dusting of product will mattify and set make up adequately, whilst soaking up any excess oils.

Bourjois Blush Pot – 85 Sienne
This also made an appearance in my ‘2015 Favourites’ but I have to include it again here as I have been using it so often recently. The packaging is a very well made compact pot, complete with mirror and blush brush. This product is perfumed and smells absolutely gorgeous. The pigmentation is considerable whilst both buildable and easy to blend, ensuring the exact required result. There are no hidden sparkles, what you see is what you get and this is again, a matte finish.

Make-Up Revolution London Pressed Highlighter – Hidden Lights
Here we have a product from what is probably my favourite drugstore brand. Make-Up Revolution London have the most remarkably pigmented products, Hidden Lights is no exception to this and is of a suitable brightness. This product is a little sparkly yet still creates a stunning and natural glow! Hidden Lights were also in my post ‘Magical Make-Up Mysteries’.

Model’s Own Nail Polish – NP241 Chrome Green
For more information on this product please see my post ‘My Model’s Own Experience’, where I talk about this in a little more detail. Stylish, classy, fast drying and both a unique finish and colour, this nail polish is utterly sensational! I need ALL of the chrome finish polishes in my life, I am helplessly hypnotized.

Cuffed Leg Joggers x3
I adore these, all of them. I need more in my life in a larger variety of colours. They’re so comfortable and they all have cuffed legs which are perfect for a short thing like myself. More information can be found about all of these in the posts ‘Money = Shopping, Shopping = Happiness’ and ‘I Solemnly Swear I am up to No Good’, as can the below pyjamas.

Snuggle Pyjamas
These are the most comfortable pyjamas I have ever experienced, I could quite honestly live in them full time, they’re amazing. Most days the first thing I’ll do once I arrive home from work is to get back into these beauties! I acquired these from Primark, although if you read the original haul post then you’ll already know that!

All That Glitters – Vicky Pattison

Lindt Limited Edition – Strawberries and Cream
What a better way to finish this off with none other than the best chocolates I have ever sampled! Lindt are my ultimate favourite anyway, they have however even excelled themselves! I would be unable to describe these without drooling. Due to being limited edition I of course have had to stock pile these whilst still having the chance!

I haven’t done a first impression review before, therefore please take into account that my first thoughts may change and differ slightly in time, depending on how I may use certain products and such. I recently picked up a few items from Primark’s P.S, Love range and thought it would be a good idea to share my findings with you. If you haven’t already, then you can view the post ‘Money = Shopping, Shopping = Happiness’ to check out some of the things I bought and the prices. Now all that’s left to do is sit back and read my first impressions!

P.S, Love Blush & Highlight Duo – Pink Rose
I didn’t know what to expect from any of my purchases however with this being a more cream based product I weren’t anticipating too much from it, usually I hate the feel of any form of creamy texture in cosmetics as they feel so sticky and cakey. I have to say however that this weren’t as creamy as I preempted it to be and actually doesn’t feel repulsive to have on my skin at all. Both the blush and highlight have a significantly pleasing pigmentation, with the highlight being extremely noticeable. Also with regards to both the texture and application, it goes on easily and blends well, although can become a little chalky and cracked if not applied with consideration. The blush is exceptionally bright but with a little blending it is able to be toned down to the desired intensity. The packaging is both stylish and attractive and being in a stick it’s very easy to use and apply, there’s a satisfactory amount of product, too. Judging by these points this is something I would buy again, even if only for the highlighter, as for me the only negative is the cracking.

P.S, Love Metallic Eyeshadow Cream
This comes in a small pot with ample product (6g), there’s something highly enjoyable about screwing on and off the lids of these pots, which isn’t important – but even so. From a quick and light swatch it doesn’t appear to be very pigmented however when using a little more product and with a brush, this observation changes. The pigmentation quite surprised me and results in a lovely brown/taupe shade on the lid. Again the creamy consistency coaxed me into believing that this would be an inferior product and I can say that again this weren’t quite as creamy as I had anticipated. It were still sticky due to the cream base, although this feeling dissipated a little after it settled. It looked beautiful when first applied and is especially easy to blend, although, after wearing this for even a short while it starts to smudge out and crease. The colour is lovely and will compliment most looks, the packaging is again stylish, and purely because it’s so inexpensive I’d probably consider buying this in other colours if there were to be any. I have to add that I didn’t use a primer with this therefore that could potentially affect the outcome.

P.S, Love Your Nails – Nail Polish Fast Dry Spray
This were quick and easy to apply, being a spray. I do have to say that I weren’t in a rush when testing this out therefore I did leave it a few minutes before checking to see if my nails had dried, on the can it does say to leave it for 60 seconds before touching the nail. They definitely dried much faster than that of usual, though. A lot comes out therefore hardly any needs to be used, this will last for a long time. I noticed that there’s a slight scent but this isn’t anything off putting or overpowering in any way, it feels a little strange on the hands and makes them very wet, therefore I’d advice not needing to touch anything until the nails are dry in order to be able to then wash the hands before doing anything else. On the packaging it states that this leaves a glossy finish of which I can confirm, I were using a top coat anyway therefore I can’t say if this would have differed had I not used the top coat, there were also a chalky residue left in some places however this could have been because of over use. This product were cheap, it’s easy to use and does the job of which it is intended for. Due to these reasons I’d definitely use and buy this again, the chalky residue may cease to occur once I’m a little more used to using the product.

P.S, Love Nail Polish in ‘Melba’ and ’88’
Both of these are stunning shades and after painting my nails I discovered to my amusement that I were matching my PJs! I feel that both would dry quite slowly had it not been for using my nail drying spray afterwards, although I find this to be the case with most nail polishes. The gunmetal grey shade ‘88’ is noticeably thick and gloopy therefore be sure to use this sparingly. It does mean of course that a little polish goes a very long way, proving to be even greater value for money! Melba has a much thinner consistency to 88 and can become patchy with a lack of attention. These of course aren’t to the standards of my beloved Model’s Own, I would however definitely buy more nail polishes from the P.S, Love range and have done time and time again. There’s always an amazing range of different colours and for an incredibly cheap price. If these are used with a base and top coat then chipping is prevented. I would definitely recommend popping into Primark to stock up on a new collection of colours!

P.S, Love Make-Up Fixing Spray
I’m not quite sure what it smells of but this smells nice, it has a very fresh scent. Make-up feels to be set well when using this although having not used a setting spray before now I’m unsure how this would stand against other lower priced setting sprays. I’ve noticed that this gets inside my lip piercing and has an undesirable taste. It’s quite off putting but I try to cover my mouth as best I can, anyway. This is a useful and cheap product, I’d definitely purchase this again as it does the job and is a bargain buy.

I hope these first impressions have proven to be useful to you, as I said above, my opinions may change on these products and differ with more use. These are only my very first impressions of the products and I hope that I’ve covered everything but if there’s something else you’d like to know please do ask me. Have you tried any of these before? Well hello there m’dear! Another review post for you is presenting itself in my Christmas and Birthday gift haul! A little disclaimer; I’m in no way trying to ‘show off’ as for starters I’ve chosen select items to review of which I believe complement this blog, I’m appreciative of all of my gifts although gifts aren’t the point, it’s the people you have around you. I’m sharing this post as I know many enjoy these types of hauls, as do I, and of course because I’m briefly reviewing these items. No hidden agenda. Now, where were we? If you would like to have a nosy at my fashion, beauty and other exciting treasures then please read on!

Fragrance

I’m in no way a fragrance expert and aren’t successful when it comes to sniffing out the individual scents of peach, freesia, jasmine etc – therefore please excuse me on this. Anna Sui – Rock Me!
This is a very light, refreshing and beautiful scent. With a mix of floral tones and a hint of water based aromas this is unique and in no way over done, it’s just right and is perfect for daytime use.

Impulse Charli XCX Rock & Love Body Spray
This is very scented however not harsh! Rock & Love definitely has the kick ass rock vibe laced with fruity and fresh feminine tones.

I received a vast array of cosmetic treats this year which is exactly what I were wanting, I felt like a small child in a toy shop! The products I have been gifted are all so incredible and I’m one delighted woman indeed!

Urban Decay Naked Smoky
You’ve heard of this I’m sure, everybody has heard of Urban Decay a countless amount of times. I’ve been wanting a Naked palette for so long but have never got around to acquiring one therefore this year I popped the Naked Smoky on my Christmas list, my Mom being the amazing legendary woman that she is didn’t fail to disappoint. I’ve always wondered what it is that makes the Naked range so sought after and thought it must be an incredible product given the price range. I’m really fussy when it comes to make-up and spending a lot of money so I tend to stick to drugstore brands mostly and because of this I held off for a while, concerned about the instance I may not get on well with it. Pshh! What a silly notion that is, I’m in friggin’ love with this beauty! The palette itself is absolutely stunning, the colours are gorgeous and are shades of which will be used regularly, the pigmentation is great and the product glides on like a dream. With a slightly creamy texture it works perfectly to combat creasing and is incredibly long wearing. There’s of course a nice large mirror inside and I can’t fault the brush included either! It’s double ended with the smaller crease brush picking up so much product to create extra pigmentation for even different brand products, and is the perfect size for dabbing a highlight colour into the corner of the eye. The larger fluffy end is the best brush imaginable for blending and smoking out any colour. It’s so well made and sturdy eradicating the chance of fiber loss and has such a soft application, making it heaven to use. I honestly believe that everyone needs a Naked palette in their collection somewhere!

W7 In The Night Palette
When I first opened this I wondered if it could potentially be a dupe for Naked Smoky because many of the colours are alike. Whilst it’s not to the same level of quality it is definitely like this in terms of pigmentation and the added vibrancy when used with a damp brush. The colours are definitely dupe worthy (if that’s a correct term), therefore I recommend this to anybody wanting the Naked Smoky who are on a lower budget. The textures are different as Naked is a little more creamy whilst this is more dusty. It’s been said however that this is a dupe for Too Faced although I can’t comment on this as I’ve never used Too Faced products. In The Night has a double ended applicator with a sponge on one end and a small brush on the other. The brush is great although a little small for the lid and is better for applying colour on the outer v, lower lash line and highlighting the brow bone. The names of colours are on the back of the case which I really like as many palettes don’t include this. I find having different shades named makes it much easier when blogging with regard to posts such as Face Of The Day.

Make-Up Revolution London Ultra Eyeshadows Palette – Eyes Like Angels
A mix of 32 highly pigmented eyeshadows including mattes and shimmers, basics and WOW colours. As always Make-Up Revolution London have done themselves proud, these shadows are incredibly pigmented and are a dream to play around with. This brand has the most phenomenal range of stunning shades. There’s a mirror included and the palette itself also isn’t too large, making it a great choice for travelling without having to compromise on colour options.

Make-Up Revolution London Salvation Palette – Girls On Film
Girls On Film is a lovely little palette with 12 shimmers and 6 mattes, there’s a good selection of autumnal colours such as golds, purples and smoky darker shades. This also includes a mirror and a double ended sponge applicator. Whilst I don’t like to use sponge applicators this is a really good size as it’s longer, in my opinion this would be easier to use due to it not being the typical small fiddly sized sponge. Again, this palette has excellent pigmentation.

Collection #ConcealAndLightLikeAPro Palette
Including correctional colours, different shades of concealer and a highlight this palette has a great assortment of products. There are instructions on the back to tell you which product does which job which is amazing for make-up novices or someone who is new to correctional concealers. The darker concealer can of course double up as contour. The product goes on well and is very easily blended, it doesn’t feel as cakey as I thought a creme based product would. Complete with a handy mirror inside.

Gosh Brow Kit
The shades included are a great range and exactly what is required, the brush is precise and an appropriate size also isn’t too soft which I like as I feel this gives a better application. The mirror inside is magnifying which is very well needed and there’s a small instruction sheet included which is easy to understand and tells you everything you need to know about what the shades and gel is for, regardless of this being quite obvious. I love that it isn’t just different shades to fill the brows in but also has the setting gel, which isn’t the awful sticky consistency that I thought it would be – it doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Sleek True Colour Sheen Lipstick – Smother
Smother is a gorgeous purple colour which comes out looking a very bright berry shade on the lips. Only one swipe is needed to get a remarkable colour pay off and the sheen formula makes it glide on beautifully as if it’s a gloss but without the awful sticky feeling, fully moisturizing your lips whilst making them appear slightly plumper. I’m unsure if this is due to the colour but I’m pleased about it none the less.

Sleek True Colour Sheen Lipstick – Mulberry
This is a dark brown shade and also applies beautifully and looks stunning. Due to being a sheen and creamy consistency this means that both lipsticks will need to be re-applied frequently. Most definitely my new favourite lipsticks, I’m overjoyed with them both.

Revlon Nail Polish – 585 Bohemian
A thin consistency generates a quick, easy and smooth application to the nail. I’ve found this drys fast also, which is new to me as most polishes tend to take forever to dry in my eyes. This is a gorgeous metallic blue shade with sparkles which creates a stunning result on the nails. I also got Rebel Graffiti which is a black and white splattered overlay but also looks incredible used alone. I’ve found this to have incredible longevity although if this is helped by having acrylic nails I don’t know. It hasn’t chipped once and I’ve been wearing it since my birthday (27/12). I’ve already let this creep into my Make-Up collection and were unfortunately unable to find it for this post.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid – NW13
I wrote a little something about this in a previous post ‘Running Dry’ which will be a little more in depth than this. It’s my go to foundation at the minute which I consider to be a medium but buildable coverage with great longevity even in humid temperatures.

LyDia’s Cosmetics Brushes 24 piece set with case.
These were gifted to me by a friend and I’m so happy with them. This is exactly what I needed as I don’t have many brushes and some of the ones I do were in need of replacing, I’d actually been eyeing up some brush sets like this myself of recent. The brushes are a great quality and feel very soft, the case is amazing for storing them all away nicely too and is simple to pack up when travelling. Brushes I’m adoring mostly include the brow brushes, large powder brush and the smudging brush for the eyes. A  brush set is a wonderful gift
idea for any make-up lover also incredibly useful!

Pandora Birthstone Ring – December
I were surprised and overjoyed to discover a Pandora Birthstone ring tucked away with my Birthday presents last month, surprisingly it fits perfectly and looks amazing. I’m not usually too much of a ring person because I never have a clue what ring size I am also I have rather chubby fingers which swell up in different temperatures, we all need a statement piece though, right? The Pandora rings are so pretty and my birthstone happens to be a gorgeous colour too, bonus.

Primark Earrings & Primark Ring Set 3 Piece
The ring pack has a nice amount of rings and is incredibly pretty with a gorgeous deep pink colour, I absolutely adore the marble effect finish on two of the rings, these are perfect for easily accessorizing an outfit. The earrings dangle quite low and are noticeable even when wearing my hair down, they don’t feel heavy like many others can and are made with stunning colours which compliment one another perfectly.

Clothing

First up my ‘Aliens Believe In Us’ tee. Ridiculously comfortable and extremely cute, this top is a H&M delight and I adore it. What’s better than aliens and animals? Exactly! Next is another number from H&M and is a patterned crop top. The pattern is unique and perfect for the summer due to the type of top and the bright and fun design, this will definitely jazz up an outfit.

Tesco 2016 Diary
A gift from another friend and proving incredibly useful for forcing myself into becoming more organised is this fantastic diary. It’s attractive to the eye and offers slight motivation with it’s cover statement “Live the life you have imagined”, I have an intense desire to fill it with many exciting activities and events. Each day has a full page giving ample space to jot down all required details for different events or meetings, there’s a list of annual holidays for different religions, year overview planner, calendar, the usual personal details section, notes and contacts pages, useful websites and even graph paper. Additional to this there’s train and airport information for the UK and a map of the London Underground! This is amazing as I’d like to get a little out of my comfort zone and explore my coutry a little more this year. There’s a little ribbon attached to use as a bookmark, this is convenient considering it’s such a huge diary!

Sims 4 Expansion Packs: Get Together and Get To Work
I’m loving ‘Get Together’ due to the additional town it creates and the many added social features for the Sims, these features bring the game alive in a much more authentic and realistic way, making it really enjoyable to play and providing so much to do. ‘Get To Work’ I haven’t fully experienced yet due to my Sim being happy in her current job however I’m really excited to explore new careers and to build my own business empire. I love The Sims 4 so far although toddlers is a HUGE thing for me and for basic story progression. I really hope that EA figure something out soon because they’ve already lost so many customers due to leaving out this key part of the game and honestly it does ruin it somewhat for me as I refuse to have families and develop them until we get toddlers back! We got pools back and for me that weren’t as much of an issue – sort it out EA!

As you will be aware if you’re a Disaster Davis follower or read my recent post ‘A huge Davis disaster!‘, I were unable to post what I had planned on 28/12/2015 due to technical difficulties involving my pictures. This really annoyed me as I always ensure consistent uploads, thankfully the issue is now rectified and I can now bring you the intended post, a little late unfortunately but here we are. I will still be uploading again this week for my usual Monday/Thursday uploading schedule. Now onto the post!


My phenomenal Mom surprised me with a make-up advent calendar this year, Make-Up Revolution London to be precise. This is a brand of which if you follow me you will already know, is one of my absolute favourites. I always find their eyeshadows to be incredibly pigmented. Read on to find out my verdict for everything included within this glorious gift.

1st – Nail Polish: Red
First up is a very festive bright red polish. Everyone needs a red or two in their collection and even more so at Christmas. The polishes in this calendar all have a thin consistency and because of this seem to apply much easier, gliding on effortlessly. They still also give full coverage with one coat which is fantastic. I’ve found that although they’re thin that this doesn’t make them dry any faster. Then again most polishes tend to dry slowly on me, or maybe that’s just my impatience! I will add that this is simply an observation rather than a complaint.

2nd – Lipstick: Nude
Like with red polish, a nude lipstick I feel is a must have and I were in no way disappointed by this beauty. With a nude lip liner this looks incredible, I were shocked at the fantastic colour pay off from this considering it’s a nude and this is now definitely my new favourite nude within lip products! The lipsticks in this calendar all felt very moisturising leaving a flawless finish. This nude in particular didn’t leave much stain on items such as cups and glasses, nor did it need to be re-applied endlessly. I’m very pleased with this product!

3rd – Baked Highlighter: Pink Lights
This is both a very pretty and well pigmented product. Although the fact it’s purple toned and shimmery scared me at first I had no need to feel such a way as this does wonders for brightening up the under eye area with it’s gorgeous striking colour. I need a lot of practice with the whole notion of ‘baking’ but I’m sure that this highlighter will prove even more incredible once used in this way. I noticed that all of the highlighters in this collection had in common, a very silky texture.

4th – Pressed Blush: Treat
This is a very orange toned blush which appears a lovely peach colour on the cheeks. This would be a great blush for many skin tones – especially those with naturally very pink skin pigmentation. It certainly lives up to it’s name. All blushes included in this set are very well pigmented however don’t come out over done and are buildable for a perfect finish.

5th – Nail Polish: Taupe
This is definitely one of my two favourites from the calendar in terms of nail polish. I adore the colour because it’s unique and very versatile with the potential of using a range of different looks with other colours or glitters. It’s a purple based taupe with pinky undertones and looks gorgeous when applied.

 
6th – Lipstick: Orange
This is a bright orange which comes out quite muted on the lips unless you use a few cotes to develop the colour more. This reminds me of pumpkins and simply screams Halloween! This pumpkin orange is definitely different to any other lip product I’ve owned before purely based on the colour.

7th – Eyeshadow: Delicious
An EXTREMELY well pigmented brown eyeshadow which is amazing for smoking out colour on the outer V. ‘Delicious’ works fantastically used together with the other mono eyeshadows from this calendar, ‘Base!’ and ‘Mountains Of Gold’. Barely any product is required due to it’s profound pigmentation, Make-Up Revolution London have even blown themselves out of the water with this one!

 
8th – Tube Gloss: Pink/Orange
This is a salmon based pink gloss and has a slight shimmer. Whilst you can tell that the wearer has a gloss on it doesn’t have much of a colour pay off as it isn’t very vivid.

9th – Lipstick: Fushia
This is a fushia colour which comes out that way on the lips with undertones of what I’d call a ‘Barbie pink’ making this perfect for a bright pop of colour. Like the rest this is pigmented and has a moisturising texture. I’m aware the picture makes it look as if it’s from the 6th, I clearly got confused whilst taking pictures of so many products!

10th – Pressed Blush: Wow!
Appropriately named, this is a very bright and bold pink although not quite so scary when swatched (still very pigmented) this is a very pretty and buildable blush. With a light application you’re able to avoid the risk of using too much product to give a very noticeable but healthy looking glow. This is now one of my favourite blush products in my whole make-up collection.

11th – Nail Polish: Turquoise
This is a very pale turquoise colour and like the other’s has a thin consistency for a quick and easy application. I love the colour as it’s not too bright but still offers a nice colour for days when you want your nails to be a little more subdued. This is very pretty and in my top three polish colours from this collection.

12th – Lipgloss: Baby Pink
A very pretty light pink shade with slight sparkle. This is a wand gloss proving to be much easier with regards to application and has the usual sticky feel that a gloss typically leaves. This isn’t very pigmented therefore for me doesn’t achieve it’s title of ‘intense’. I noticed this also has a nice taste and smell, reminding me of a bubblegum flavour!

13th – Eyeshadow: Base!
Great pigmentation for such a light colour, this is perfect for it’s name sake as a ‘base’ and is also fantastic for highlighting the brow bone!

14th – Pressed Highlighter: Hidden Lights
This is a perfect neutral colour for highlighting any areas where shimmer isn’t wanted. This isn’t quite as pigmented as the other’s in this post but is still amazing none the less. This will mostly get used for places such as my nose and forehead!

15th – Nail Polish: Pink
Simple and to the point; this is a standard pink polish. I’m sure we all have one and this is no different from the millions already in my collection, okay maybe a slight exaggeration there. It’s a lovely colour but there’s nothing much to say, what you see is what you get with this product with no hidden sparkles or undertones.

16th – Pressed Blush: Now
Salmon coloured and perfect for a more subtle look as opposed to the bright pink ‘Wow!’ shade. This will look especially beautiful with a tan and/or alongside contouring.

17th – Tube Gloss: Baby Pink
Again, tube glosses aren’t my favourite due to seeming to be so much stickier than others also due to awkwardness of the application from them. This gloss however somehow seemed to have a less sticky consistency to many others and glided on. It’s because of this and the end result that I prefer this one to the other tube gloss from day 8, it has an extremely light colour and appears clear on the lips but the sparkles are incredibly noticeable.

18th – Nail Polish: Grey
This grey polish has a slight blue undertone and sparkles, by far the prettiest and most unusual polish I have seen of this colour variation and is one of my favourites from this collection. It’s such a unique and pretty colour and I’m excited to be presented with an opportunity to test this out soon!

19th – Eyeshadow: Mountains of Gold
An utterly perfect gold eyeshadow providing an unbelievable colour pay off with lots of shimmer and sparkle! This is definitely a must have for the festive season and will be used extensively by me due to my current obsession with gold and purple shades. I were incredulous to find that there’s very little fall out if any, especially shocking providing the intense pigmentation. I’m in love with this product.

20th – Lipstick: Pink
This is a really nice muted pink shade of which isn’t too bright or over done, lovely for a slightly understated look. It glides on but will take a few coats however for ample colour pay off.

21st – Baked Highlighter: Golden Lights
Perfect for using alongside contouring, this is a lovely light shimmery colour which draws attention to the highlighted areas in a natural way. The brow bone will receive advantage from this product also!

22nd – Lipgloss: Red
Thankfully this gloss has a wand applicator as this is indeed intense, especially for a gloss! This has a remarkable colour pay off with a slightly fushia undertone.

23rd – Lipstick: Purple
A highly pigmented, deep, dark purple which takes literally only one swipe for an astonishing highly pigmented result. This is highly moisturising and is my new ‘baby’.

24th – Lipstick: Red
Incredibly bright is this red, with a crazy colour pay off and again a moisturising feel. This looks incredible teamed together with a red lip liner and is the perfect lip shade for Christmas!

25th – Eyeshadow Palette
What a fantastic little palette this is, including a mix of neutrals and brights, mattes and shimmers. Undoubtedly perfect for creating a range of flawless and unbelievably well pigmented winter looks. There’s a long double ended sponge applicator included with this, although I’m unlikely to use this due to my general dislike for a sponge applicator with regard to the eyes, I feel there’s a lack of colour pay off with them and the general feel of applying my eye make up this way irritates me. Using my favourite tools for the job I will of course be enjoying every minute of use from this little cracker!
