It’s not everyday that you go shopping and find yourself surrounded by huge cake sculptures. I found this occurrence far too unique to keep to myself. Cake anyone?



So the deal is, I went shopping with the girls recently in Leeds and just after experiencing a false alarm evacuation whilst being stuck on the top floor of the Trinity centre, amongst a ridiculous amount of Saturday shoppers, our eyes were diverted to a delicious display below. Leeds in cake!







The space were open to the public to peruse, of whom were given a free sample of cake once getting to the end, yummy! It has to be noted that the queues were getting a little more intense once we had finished, but thankfully we were amongst the very lucky first few - phew! The delicacy were displayed in the Trinity centre, Leeds, from Saturday 14th until Friday 20th.

Due to it being a long while since I last completed this particular post I felt that a lot would have changed with my usual make-up routine by now, I for one find it to be a rather interesting concept as to just how much has altered in that time.






Clearly everything has changed since last year, I'm rather surprised by this as I didn't realise just how much my everyday make-up had differed. I used to rarely change my make-up, using certain products for consecutive years without branching out to try anything new. It’s been a rather substantial amount of time since I last posted a review of literature, hasn't it? Lets remedy this now!


As is apparent going by the title of this post, today’s book review is on ‘The Single Girl’s To-Do List’ by Lindsey Kelk. When doing what we’re always told not to, judging the book by it’s cover, I found it to be pretty and aesthetically pleasing - it definitely portrays a girlie vibe. The blurb worked wonders for reeling me in with the use of a slight list and promising me both romance and adventure. To myself, it sounded like a very fun, current and modern read which would be easily enjoyed by women of a wide variety of ages and probably some guys too - lets not go all stereotypical now! I were excited indeed to immerse myself in the fun frolics alongside Rachel, Emilie and Matthew, whilst learning just what it is that a single girl is to do!



From the start it were evident that this book would be an incredibly effortless and enjoyable read, particularly perfect for those long summer evenings or holidays, with a cool, fruity beverage to hand. The characters were undoubtedly relatable and I personally loved the fact that the main character, Rachel, had such a substantial obsession for lists, due to this I were provided with instant relatability. The chapters were short enough to avoid potential boredom, keeping the story moving at an appropriate pace and the storyline were especially realistic in that Rachel were in a typically normal everyday situation. Descriptions were kept concise which in my opinion were just right. I did notice that an assumption I made originally turned out to not be the case, I’d expected more, well, lists! I had thought that the chapters would maybe be titled with a new task on the list, which would have also been a great way to break up the different plot points, in fact the chapters were simply numbered.

When all is said and done this book proved to be an entertaining read, following themes of friendship, self discovery, change and of course, romance. I felt a few times as though the story weren't really getting started up until around the fifteenth chapter, although I feel that’s probably got more to do with myself and my current wanderlust rather than the book itself.

Have you perused this yourself yet? What were your thoughts? I’d definitely recommend this to any new singleton or somebody of which is getting a little bored of their single status, it’s just the reminder required for the realisation that you should be putting yourself first, living by nobody else’s rules and to get in the moment! Experience life and all it has to offer, be wild and free!

My make-up routine is typically the same, only usually differing due to my lipstick choice and eye make-up, with this in mind I figured that I’d share my everyday make-up look, meaning that I aren't required to repeat myself with the same products in any make-up of the day posts. Enjoy!



* I typically use George Silk Finish Pressed Powder in No. 2 Nude, however this particular time I were wearing the above. 


Hopefully this post will prove to be as useful for you as I anticipate it will for myself. As you can see I look noticeably different from my usual tired after work self, compared to with a full face of make-up, this I feel speaks volumes for the products I use! During the May Bank Holiday weekend there were somewhat an influx of birthdays. Firstly, my best friend Riley’s, followed the next night by another of my best friend’s, Sarah! Wrapping all of this up on the Sunday with a date night it proved to be an especially hectic and pleasurable weekend indeed. I felt it would be rude to refrain from sharing the fun!

For the first night of craziness we were town bound and onto Leeds it were, to indulge in a fun filled family and friend karaoke night in the Merchant, followed afterwards by additional drinks at my cousin’s flat. Since Riley is a bit of a novice when it comes to venturing into town on the evening hours, I were given the responsibility due to my best friend position, to both decide on a plan and ensure he enjoyed his night, getting rather merry in the process. Taking into consideration the fact that he nodded off on Steph’s sofa before suddenly sprinting to the toilet in order to vomit that of his own body weight, I’d assume that I succeeded in this endeavour! I certainly had a whale of a time, the weekend got off to a cracking start!



The Saturday were then devoted to Sarah’s birthday celebrations and saw our group through pre-drinks at Lee’s house before heading to town for a night of Attic based antics! ‘Propaganda’ is a personal favourite of mine with regard to ‘club nights’ and it has to be said that I thoroughly enjoyed sampling my many ‘Jedi Juices’, a cocktail made of course in honour of May 4th.




After plenty of dancing, drinking and a generally fantastic night with a ridiculous lack of sleep and at a crazy time in the morning, I have literally no idea how I felt alive enough to finish off the weekend perfectly with a date night, but I somehow did! I’m not about to kiss and tell, although we started our evening off with drinks in Headingley, which were a welcome change for myself and I had a lovely time. I failed to take any photos of myself that night however the picture below is taken from another night this year when I wore the same outfit.







I can say for certain that I had a spectacular May Bank Holiday. How were yours? I’d love to hear all about it.

It’s that time of the month again where I collect together all possessions of mine of which have elicited my particular interest and excitement. Of course, this would have been posted at the very end of last month, if you haven’t already then you are able to read about the reason for this delay on my previous post ‘What’s up? What’s the 411?’


Collection Eyes Uncovered - Nude Grey Palette
This product has phenomenal pigmentation! Of course this results in a large amount of expected fall out but that doesn't overly inconvenience me, I mean, we have hacks or face wipes - right? The colours included are all perfectly wearable for both daytime and at night whilst being of a superb quality. Eyes Uncovered is literally used by me just as much as my Urban Decay Smoky palette, if not more as this is currently my definite ‘go to’ eye product. As with easily 90% of items, I don’t use the sponge applicator of which is included although everything else about this product I absolutely adore!

Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 - Beige 55
I'm utterly obsessed with this, although that’s the ultimate understatement. I've even stopped using my MAC Studio Fix Foundation due to the discovery of this exquisite creation, which is thrilling for me considering the alarming difference in price. Minimal product is required when using this in order to achieve high coverage and an extremely flawless end result. I don’t wish to give too much away here as I have a much more in depth review of this planned to follow shortly, however in the mean time I can’t recommend this product enough!

Bourjois Liner Feutre - 11 Noir
Previous to this I had yet to use a felt liner therefore I have nothing else to compare this to. I have however found this product to be especially helpful for creating both the lower part of my wing and my upper lash line due to the exemplary precision provided by this pen. It has to be said that a careful hand is still to be used though and the mindfulness to not make mistakes, as the staying power of this product is crazy! This Bourjois liner has immense durability and longevity, lasting overnight and even into the next day!


That’s it for this past month, there hasn't been many items on my list although the products which have pleased me have proven to be entirely outstanding. Hello again! Wow it feels like an eternity in which I were last posting here! As will be blatantly obvious to followers of this here blog, I haven’t posted anything for over the last few weeks. Anybody of which has also been keeping tabs on the YouTube channel will have noticed the fact that the channel has resembled a barren wasteland, too. So just what exactly has been occurring?


Firstly, YouTube. I haven’t thrown in the towel, although I am going to be leaving it a little while longer before I get going with more uploads. I've had so much to contend with already this year and I've been so incredibly busy that I've been unable to aim any focus towards the preparation for the channel and as anybody on YouTube will know, having a new channel and being a novice really does require some form of forward planning, being well equipped for the venture is something that I feel I would additionally need to strive towards. As I say there have been no towels thrown, the notion isn't abundant, simply on hold for a little while until the current chaos within my life settles slightly.

As for the blog, we can thank my utterly delightful (this is indeed sarcasm) internet provider for the privilege of this one! I did keep Twitter followers updated with this situation, however that’s the only social media platform in which I kept anybody aware. I couldn't get onto the internet for some time, which meant that of course I couldn't upload pictures or anything to my blog. Personally I prefer to do my blogging from my laptop rather than another device such as a phone or tablet, I simply find this fits me much better and is easier to navigate. Due to using my camera for many of the pictures I take for the blog, rather than my phone, this of course means that I then need the use of the internet in order to complete my posts. I'm sorry if anybody thought I’d been abducted by aliens or something, but I’m back now, yay! As I promised on Twitter, I will be posting a back log of posts of which have been missed, which means there will be an accumulation of posts firing out from all angles in the coming week.


I hope the absence of Disaster Davis hasn't perturbed anybody too much and I’d like to thank the people who have been contacting me throughout expressing their upset at missing my publishings. It’s always especially heart-warming to know that there’s people of which genuinely enjoy reading what I have to say. Thank you for both your support and patience.
